What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® works specifically for the unique structure of your mouth. The aligner trays are custom made to the shape of your teeth using an invisible smooth plastic that allows for comfort and discretion. This system can correct issues of misaligned, crooked, and overcrowded teeth.

What is the Process Like?

Dr. Thind is an experienced Invisalign-trained provider and she will discuss your case in detail to determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign®. After the initial consultation, Dr. Thind will set up a customized treatment plan using x-rays, impressions, and pictures of your teeth. The documentation of your teeth and mouth is used to create a 3D image. From this image a series of custom-made, clear aligners is then created specifically for you.

How Long do I Need to Wear the Aligners?

Typically, treatment takes a year for adults and for teens it is about the same length as wearing braces. For best results you would wear your aligners for about 20 to 22 hours per day. During your time wearing the aligners your teeth gradually shift into alignment and about every two weeks you will advance to a new set of aligners. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® is convenient enough to remove for eating or brushing with no irritation to teeth or gums.

Unlike other methods, Invisalign® will not cause irritation to your mouth and it is flexible enough to let you live unencumbered. These aligners are also removable, allowing them to be taken out when brushing, flossing, or eating. This eliminates the need for dietary restrictions because of metal brackets found in traditional braces. Along with improving your smile, having properly aligned teeth improves dental health by reducing your risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
